Overview
Shannon was born and raised in Hampton Roads. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre, and then relocated to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of acting.
But as fate would have it, Shannon experienced her own tumultuous divorce and custody battle, which changed the course of her life. After successfully fighting for her daughter’s protection and gaining custody, Shannon returned to her home roots to attend law school.
Shannon attended Regent University with a baby girl on her hip and another daughter in tow. While working and raising two young girls, she earned her law degree in 2005.
Shannon began her career at Joe Hood and Associates in Virginia Beach, VA., where she “cut her teeth” as an attorney. Following Hood and Associates, Shannon went to Hofheimer Family Law, where she spent ten years learning and mastering her craft as a superior trial attorney.
During her tenure with Hofheimer Family Law, she successfully litigated highly complex equitable distribution cases and high-conflict custody cases for a women-only law firm.
Shannon has successfully advocated for her clients in the courtroom, and her theater background has come in quite handy. She is tenacious, competitive, and places her clients’ interests above all, making her a formidable opponent.
However, Shannon also recognizes the importance of negotiations and settlement when pursuing her client’s interests. She is forthright and honest, always steering her clients in the right direction. Shannon thrives on being the guiding light for her clients during their darkest moments.
Shannon’s ability to strategize, negotiate, and litigate for each individual enables her to pursue justice for the client and their children. Her experience has helped her navigate and maneuver in the courtroom with ease, passion, and success.
